The serial number is YG4-PT01xx. I got it from a friend who bought it from a gun shop in Ohio about the '04-'05 time frame. It has the box and a hang tag indicating it was a trade in at the shop on 11-22-04. The slide has no Patriot roll mark.I have a; Dan Wesson,15-2 target serial number 231442, caliber .357, made in the Monson, Massachusetts. Does anyone have a date of manufacture for this revolver? Jim, I think your gun dates from 1979 or early 1980. Monson was made up until 1991 but the changed the serial number format in 1986. Of course, large frames were always made at Palmer but roll marked Monson until sometime in 1991. LeonardC said My 22 is SN 14XXX (five numbers). I had a very similar thing happen to me, purchased a stainless Monson Model 40 that ended up being an ETG serial number 36. Sometime later bought a Monson 7445 did not know it and it ended up being a IHSMA serial number 36. It is all pretty weird, never know they would be special just looking for two Stainless Super Mags!
