I’ve had multiple UPS units, probably 6-7 outages while running a NUC staking ethereum (2 years now) and have never had to manually do a thing. Power goes out, UPS kicks on, ~180minutes later at 10% battery NUC gets a graceful shutdown, UPS drains to 0% from my modem, power comes back on NUC fires up and UPS starts recharging.
That number is down from the 25,000 that were without power on Sunday. Pacific Power crews are working to restore power in those areas.
